Dr. Bill Routen grew up in farm and ranch country in central California. He attended the University of California where he received a B.S. in Animal Science and then his doctorate in 1978 from the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. He then practiced for 14 years in a predominantly bovine/equine mixed practice in central California.
In 1992 he relocated to Montana where he established the Stillwater Veterinary Clinic. His main interests include beef herd health management and reproduction, equine lameness and reproduction, and general small animal medicine and surgery.
His interests outside the practice include maintaining his small commercial cow/calf operation and enjoying life on the ranch with his long time wife and partner, Terri, and their menagerie of dogs, cats, and horses.
